Sheriff: Authorities awaiting more details before releasing names

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

Three people were transported to The Memorial Hospital after their all-terrain vehicle flipped around 5 p.m. Saturday.

A 13-year-old female was driving the Polaris ATV with her mother and five-year-old sibling as passengers about 20 miles north of Craig off Moffat County Road 70 on private property when the accident occurred, Moffat County Sheriff KC Hume said.

“All three parties were transported,” Hume said.

The mother and 13-year-old were treated and released at TMH while the 5-year-old boy was transported to Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver.

The individuals involved were not wearing helmets.

Responding agencies include THM Emergency Medical Services, Moffat County Sheriff’s Office and Craig Fire/Rescue.

After being contacted by the Daily Press on Tuesday afternoon, Hume said his office is waiting for an update on the 5-year-old’s condition before divulging additional information.

“Until we get information relative to that, we’re not going to release the adult’s name,” he said.

The Craig Daily Press will have more on the story as it develops.
