Cheryl Arnett: Vote for JoBeth Tupa
To the editor:
The upcoming MCSD School Board election is of critical importance. There are four seats changing. This is an opportunity for the community to play a role in the future of our schools, but our voices will only be heard if we take time to vote. I will be casting my ballot for Jobeth Tupa in District 3. I met Jobeth five years ago when she was a parent volunteer in my classroom at Sunset Elementary. Jobeth devoted time to the classrooms of her two children, generously helping with not only day-to-day classroom activities, but also planning and organizing parties and special events. She then reached out to the nearby senior housing to build and facilitate a community connection between Sunset students and the elders. Her involvement grew as she became instrumental in PAC activities and now serves as the PAC president at Sunset. If there is a need for ideas, manpower, or support at the school, Jobeth is always there to help. Through all of that, she has devoted a great deal of time to learning how the district operates and the needs of both students and teachers. She asks the tough questions and looks for answers. It is only natural that her next step will be to join the School Board. I believe Jobeth’s passion for education combined with her firsthand experiences in the school will serve her well as a member of the board. Many people have ideas about how school should be or the direction of education. Jobeth is not only an idea maker she makes ideas happen! Please consider casting your vote for Jobeth Tupa for District 3. Please make sure your voice is heard. Please vote!
