Calvin K. Reid: 1946-2004

Calvin K. Reid of Phippsburg, died Oct. 5, 2004 at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs following a lengthy illness. He was 58.

Reid was born June 2, 1946, in Glenwood Springs, Colo., to Eldon and Clarice (Gates) Reid.

Reid was raised in the Tabernash area and graduated from Granby High School in 1964. He joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He married Carol Caesar in San Diego and to this union ad daughter, Cori, was born. Reid lived in California for many years and was a carpenter by trade and also did electrical work.



He moved to Phippsburg in 1990 and in 1995 he married Irene Visintainer.

He was an accomplished musician and enjoyed music, fishing, hiking, goldpanning and talking with his friends on the telephone.



Reid is survived by a daughter, Cori Bearbower, of Laguna Hills, Calif.; granddaughter, Lindsey Bearbower of Laguna Hills; mother, Clarice Reid, of Phippsburg; brothers Charles (Sheri) Reid of Keensburg, and Gene (Charlene) Reid of Springfield, Mo.; former wife, Irene Visintainer, of Craig; and numerous nephews and cousins.

Reid was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Reid.

Services were Oct. 9, 2004 at South Routt Bible Church with Pastor Tom Harves and Evan Reid officiating.

Special selection was “Share With The Wind,” by Calvin Reid.

Honorary pallbearers were Bo Iacovetto, Dave Webster, George Trujillo, Gary Barnes, and Tom Cole.

Interment was at Craig Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Grant Mortuary.
