Bulldog Hockey Club shut out by Durango

John Vandelinder

The Moffat County Bulldog Hockey Club ran into a hot goalie Friday night, losing 2-0 to visiting Durango.

The Bulldogs (3-3-1 Rocky Mountain Youth Hockey League) couldn’t solve the Steamers’ goalie tandem of Ryan Dittmar and Kevin Hoy.

Dittmar and Hoy combined to stop all 24 Moffat County shots, handing the Bulldogs their first shutout loss of the season.

Moffat County limited Durango (6-0-1 RMYHL) to just 18 shots on goal, but it was two in less than three minutes that proved most effective.

Durango scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal 41 seconds into the second period and added the insurance score two minutes later.

The Bulldogs get another crack at the top team in the Rocky Mountain Youth Hockey League at 10 a.m. today at Moffat County Ice Arena.
