The Moffat County Road Department will be temporarily closing the Swinging Bridge in Brown’s Park for repairs starting Monday, November 5, 2012. The bridge will be closed to traffic Monday thru Thursday from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We anticipate completing repairs by no later than November 21, 2012. Craig Collection Site Open to Receive Gift-Filled Shoe Boxes
This holiday season, Craig residents are working to brighten the lives of millions of needy children around the world. Right now, volunteers are preparing for the collection of 500 gift-filled shoe boxes—Craig’s target contribution to the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child.
Nov. 12 – 19, Calvary Baptist Church in Craig will be bustling with activity as hundreds of shoe boxes packed full of goodies for needy kids overseas are dropped off by local individuals and families.
Anyone can drop off a packed shoe box at the Craig-area collection site (address and hours below). Then, using whatever means necessary—trucks, trains, boats, bikes and even elephants—the shoe box gifts will be hand-delivered to hurting children in 100 countries around the world.

A young Florida woman who traveled to Colorado and bought a shotgun for what authorities feared would be a Columbine-inspired attack just days ahead of the 20th anniversary was found dead Wednesday in an apparent suicide after a nearly 24-hour manhunt.
