Briefs for Sept. 21, 2011: Redneck Tailgator Party set for Friday

Pankey's BBQ, 1740 E. U.S. Highway 40, is hosting the End-of-Summer Redneck Tailgator Party from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The event is free for all ages and is alcohol-free. The party will include a name-the-alligator contest and free country dance lessons, including the two-step, three-step and cowboy waltz. The first 50 attendees will receive a free ice cream cone.

Wake-up Breakfast scheduled for Sept. 29

The Craig Chamber of Commerce will host its Wake-up Breakfast from 6:47 to 7:47 a.m. Sept. 29 at Hampton Inn & Suites, 377 Cedar Ct.

The event is hosted by the Fit Family Challenge of the Moffat Family Clinic.

MCHS announces Homecoming parade theme

Moffat County High School has announced the theme for Homecoming activities next month.

Oct. 3 to 8 is Homecoming Week with a theme of "Under the Sea."

The Homecoming parade is scheduled for Oct. 7. Entry forms are available in the first-floor office at Moffat County High School and must be returned by Oct. 4. The cost is $25 for school floats and $30 for non-school floats.

American Legion hosts bingo Saturday

American Legion Post 62 will host bingo Saturday evening at the Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way.

The doors open at 4:30 p.m., and games begin at 5:45 p.m.
