Briefs for May 23: Farmers Market meeting Thursday

A meeting for all vendors planning to participate in the Craig Farmers Market takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave.
Discussion items include a reduced youth vendor fee, record keeping, tax issues and product limitations. Vendor sites also will be chosen.
The market is scheduled to take place from June 21 through Sept. 20.
Seasonal site fees are $50, and a single month fee is $25.
Fees will pay for street pole banners and other items.

Boys & Girls Club closure
The Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40, will close early at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to club members and families and will remain closed until it re-opens for summer camp June 4.
Summer hours begin June 4, and the club will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided.
The cost is $1 per hour per child.

Aging Well at The Journey
Aging Well, a Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association program, hosts Wellness Wednesday for older adults every Wednesday at The Journey at First Baptist, 1150 W. Ninth St.
A Colorado Northwestern Community College memoir writing class takes place at 8:30 a.m., Arthritis Foundation exercise is at 10:30 a.m., and lunch is served at 11:30 a.m.
The meal costs $3.
Today's event will feature a presentation from Vicki Barron, VNA community health educator, at noon.
Senior wellness and foot checks also are available.

Social Services to distribute food supplements
Moffat County Department of Social Services will distribute U.S. Department of Agriculture food supplements today.
Distributions take place from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the Maybell Community Center and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Social Services office in Dinosaur, 330 Stegosaurus Freeway.
"All households that receive food supplements must be re-certified at the first of each year," the agency reported in a news release.
"Verification includes proof of the household’s gross monthly income, current address and picture I.D."

Moffat Family Clinic, 600 Russell St., is offering free sports exams for Moffat County High School and Craig Middle School students through July 31.
