Animal shelter hosting pet adoption event today
“Second Chance Saturday,” an adopt-a-thon sponsored by the Humane Society of Moffat County, takes place from 9 a.m. to noon today at the Craig Animal Shelter, 2430 E. Victory Way.

Town hall meetings set for today with Congressman
Rep. Scott Tipton, R-Colo., will host a series of town hall meetings today in Northwest Colorado.
Below are times and locations:
• 9:30 a.m. at Kilowatt Korner, 233 Sixth St., in Meeker.
• 12:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 62, 1055 Moffat County Road 7, in Craig
• 2:15 p.m. at Maybell Community Center, in Maybell.
• 6 p.m. at Rangely Municipal Courtroom, 209 E. Main St., in Rangely.
All meetings are free and open to the public.
Young Life to host dessert banquet March 18
Bear River Young Life will host a free dessert banquet at 6:30 p.m. March 18 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion.
The annual event includes free childcare and live music provided by Andrew Ripp.

Social Services to distribute food supplements
The Moffat County Department of Social Services will distribute U.S. Department of Agriculture food supplements this month, the agency reported in a news release.
The schedule and location of distributions are below:
• 9 to 11 a.m. March 20 at 595 Breeze St. (use the building’s northeast alley entrance), in Craig.
• 9 to 9:30 a.m. March 28 at Maybell Community Center, in Maybell.
• 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 28 at the Social Services office in Dinosaur, 330 Stegosaurus Freeway.
“All households that receive food supplements must be recertified at the first of each year,” according to the release. “Verification includes proof of the household’s gross monthly income, current address and picture I.D.”
