Presentations slated for library youth club
The youth club hosted from 2 to 3 p.m. every Wednesday at the Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries, 570 Green St., is slated to host two presentations this month.
Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265 will present at the July 18 meeting about America, flag etiquette and stories of the past.
On July 25, Craig Police Department officers will show attendees how a radar gun works and teach them about finger printing and other tools officers use to solve crimes.
The events are free.

Relay For Life to honor survivors
Yampa Valley Relay for Life organizers invite cancer survivors and caregivers to the annual relay July 20 at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane.
Check-in takes place from 3 to 5 p.m.
All survivors will receive a T-shirt and gift for attending.
The event opens with a survivors lap at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner reception for cancer survivors and caregivers.
“Being part of the survivors lap allows survivors to celebrate what they have overcome while inspiring and motivating their community to fight against cancer,” the organization reported in a news release.
Relay for Life continues through the night of July 20 and ends the morning of July 21.
Survivors and caregivers are asked to RSVP by today.

Discount adopt-a-thon set for Saturday
The Humane Society of Moffat County will sponsor “Second Chance Saturday,” a discount adopt-a-thon, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bear Creek Animal Hospital/Craig Animal Shelter, 2430 E. Victory Way.
All shelter animals are $60 to adopt, and the price includes spay and neuter operations, vaccinations and feline leukemia tests.
The regular price to adopt an animal is $115.

Humane Society accepting garage sale items
The Humane Society of Moffat County is accepting donations for its garage sale fundraiser July 27 and 28.
The agency cannot accept adult clothes or large appliances.
The garage sale is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 27 and 8 a.m. to noon July 28 at 2205 E. Ninth St.
All proceeds benefit the Humane Society.
