Briefs for Jan. 28, 2011: Commission to meet briefly today

The Moffat County Commission is scheduled to host a short special meeting at 10 a.m. today at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way. The agenda is listed below:

• 10 to 10:05 a.m. Call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, moment of silence

• 10:05 to 10:10 a.m. Consent agenda



Review and sign the following documents: resolution for transfer of payments of warrants.

The meeting is open to the public.



Democrats slated to host meeting

The Moffat County Democrats will host a reorganizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40.

All interested Dem-

ocrats are welcome to attend.

Sunset to host Zumba fundraiser

Sunset Elementary School’s School Accountability Committee is hosting a Zumba Fitness fundraiser this weekend.

Zumba is a combination of Latin dance moves and resistance training and is appropriate for participants of all fitness levels, according to a release from the school.

Classes, which last one hour, are scheduled for 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at the school’s gym, 800 W. Seventh St.

The cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children.

Half of the proceeds will benefit the school.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Local Union 1799 to meet Sunday

Local Union 1799 will meet at 5 p.m. Sunday at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.
