Here comes the Bridal Faire

Next month, 22 vendors will gather in one place for the 2006 Bridal Faire in Craig.

The event, at the Holiday Inn, is from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 5.

Event sponsors are Magic Carpet Travel and Holiday Inn, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

Vendors at the event will include florists, photographers, cosmetologists, jewelers, skin-care specialists, caterers, printers, wedding arrangers and tuxedo rentals among others.

The idea behind the Bridal Faire is to offer “one-stop” shopping for participants, organizers say.

Admission is free.

Drawings, discount offers and free door prizes are included in the event. Participants also will have a chance to sample food, wedding cake and champagne.

Call Magic Carpet Travel at 824-1951 for information.

Planning group to meet at City Hall

The Moffat County Planning and Zoning Commission has changed venues. The commission will meet at Craig City Hall, not the Moffat County Courthouse.

The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month to discuss zoning regulations and issue permits for special uses of property.

The new meeting place is more suitable for meetings, Moffat County Planner Ben Crippen said.

At the courthouse, members of the commission sat around a table with residents who attended the meetings. By meeting at City Hall, the commissioners are able to sit together and residents will sit in the audience.

The commission will meet for one hour before every meeting to discuss zoning regulations, and the meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m., Crippen said.

Licenses intended to improve safety

The Colorado Department of Public Health has begun licensing air ambulance services to operate in the state.

“Air ambulance licensing will help increase safety and accountability of those agencies that provide air ambulance transportation in our state,” said D. Randy Kuykendall, Emergency Medical and Trauma Services chief.

The licensing is a result of SB 180, passed in 2000, which gave the Colorado Department of Public Health the authority to license, regulate and investigate Colorado air ambulance services.

The program is designed to improve public safety and foster communication between health and transportation services in Colorado.

The program goes into effect Feb. 1.
