Briefs for Dec. 16, 2011: Daily Press a drop-off for Santa letters

Santa Claus has asked the Craig Daily Press to help him gather Christmas letters. Bring your letter, which should include your first name and age, to the newspaper at 466 Yampa Ave.

The letters will be printed in the Dec. 24 issue of the Saturday Morning Press and will be accepted until 5 p.m. Dec. 23.

Community invited to caroling event

The community is invited to go Christmas caroling beginning at 6 p.m. today at the north end of First Congregational Church, 630 Green St.

Cookies and cocoa will be served after caroling at the church.

Free crochet lessons offered today

Free crochet classes are scheduled through the end of the year, with a different project the focus each month.

Classes will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. today

Classes take place at 655 Ranney St.

Insurance agency hosting food drive

Bob Johnson State Farm Agency is hosting a food drive to benefit Interfaith Food Bank.

Nonperishable food and monetary donations will continue to be collected at the insurance office, 690 W. Victory Way, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The deadline for Christmas donations is Dec. 16.

The Journey to host craft fair Saturday

The Journey at First Baptist Church, 1150 W. Ninth St., will host a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
