Brief: Rankin earns NRA endorsement
October 5, 2012
The National Rifle Association announced this week its endorsement of Bob Rankin for Colorado House District 57.
Rankin, R-Carbondale, is running against Craig Democrat Jo Ann Baxter.
Rankin received an AQ rating from the NRA.
An AQ rating is given to pro gun candidates who do not have a voting record on Second Amendment issues.
The NRA also announced this week its endorsement of Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., and Congressman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., for president and vice president, respectively.
"Today we live in an America that is getting harder to recognize every day, led by a president who mocks our values, belittles our faith, and is threatened by our freedom," said Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, after the announcement.
