Brian and Lynne Herring: A warm thank you to our ice heroes

To the editor:

The Herring family would like to take this opportunity to say a grateful “thank you” to Chris and Brenda Walsh and their two sons.

A few weeks ago, we were in a small accident involving our big ice freezer. We were on our way to Meeker to deliver a load of ice to the pipeline. Our ice freezer ended up on its side in the middle of the road at the bottom of Nine Mile Hill.

Chris and Brenda saw the accident, stopped and helped us get the trailer and freezer back on its wheels and off to the side of the road.

They could have continued on their way after that, and we would have been grateful. But they stayed with us, even taking pictures of the accident for our insurance company.

Then, knowing we were on our way to deliver the ice in Meeker, they offered to put it in the back of their truck and take it to the pipeline, which we did, and we delivered it on time. Their two boys were great in loading and unloading that ice.

What great neighbors we have. Thank you so much, Chris and Brenda and your boys.
