Bond revoked for vehicular homicide suspect

Logan Douglas Otis, 20, was booked into Moffat County Jail on Sunday for violating conditions of his bond.

Otis is charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol after he rolled a 2002 Ford Focus on Moffat County Road 18, killing his 52-year-old father, Dennis Otis, on May 3.

According to a motion from District Attorney Brett Barkey’s office, “On July 19, 2015, the defendant (Otis) reeked of alcohol and tested positive for alcohol during a breath analysis test at (Corrective Alternative Placement Services).

The conditions of Otis’s bond require him to refrain from alcohol consumption and submit to breath analysis.

Otis’s bond had previously been revoked on June 10 for missing three breath analysis tests. The court later reinstated it with a warning.

Last May, Dennis Otis was booked into Moffat County Jail on a warrant for failing to comply on a DUI, according to a jail report published in the Daily Press. In February 2012, he was booked into Moffat County Jail on a warrant.
