Bill Harding: Flu shots for veterans on way
Last week, I wrote about upcoming flu shots for veterans enrolled in the VA Healthcare system at the new Craig Telehealth clinic.
I didn’t complete that full name, so it may have caused confusion with the existing Craig Clinic. From now on, I will refer to the Craig VA site as the Craig Teleclinic, as the abbreviation. Here is the corrected paragraph:
The Craig Teleclinic has scheduled flu shot clinics for Oct. 30 and Nov. 27.
They will be giving the shots all day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will accept walk-ins. In order to get the shots, you must be actively enrolled in the VA health care system at this time and be rated as a Priority 1-7
CVSO office to be closed Oct. 15 to 18
The CVSO office will be closed Oct. 15 through Oct. 17 next week. I will be out of town. I plan to be back in the office early on Oct.18 and come in Oct. 19 to ensure that I get caught up.
Dick Maxson will ensure that all rides to the VAMC in Grand Junction will be taken care of during my absence. Call my office, and he will check for transport requests left in the voice mailbox. Dick will give you his cell number if he feels it is warranted. There will be no veteran news next week.
ceremony in November
I am working to schedule a flag retirement ceremony in November.
If you have flags that have worn to the point they should not be displayed, take them to either the VFW Post at City Park or the American Legion Post at the Shadow Mountain complex. I will use the newspaper to announce the location and time when they are set up. We are looking at Veterans Day weekend at the Moffat County Fairgrounds as the possible date and location. More to follow.
