Beauty Tip: Taking proper care of sunburns

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

It’s that time of year where we’re all spending more time outdoors in the hot, blistering sun. Although we’d like to avoid getting sunburns, sometimes it happens.

So how do you properly take care of a sunburn to ensure your skin isn’t damaged?

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, taking frequent cool baths and showers is one remedy, and, of course, using aloe vera also helps.

Put the aloe in the refrigerator so that when you put it on your skin, it has a cooling effect.

Also, drink extra water and take aspirin or ibuprofen to help the healing and the pain.
