Auditions open for Craig Historic Ghost Walk

People with an interest in history and a flair for the dramatic are encouraged to volunteer as actors, actresses, guides, and helpers for the second annual Craig Historic Ghost Walk, which will perform Oct. 3, 4 and 5.

The Craig Historic Ghost Walk is a storytelling of Craig and Moffat County’s history.

Auditions to participate in the event are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 at the Bell Tower Building, 50 College Drive, and from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave.

Organizers are seeking 32 actors and 25 guides.

Stories, subjects and characters for this year include the following:

  • The Armory
  • Augusta Wallihan
  • David Moffat
  • The KKK
  • The Luttrell Barn
  • Pioneer Newspaper Editor
  • Big Ed Johnson
  • Blanche Maud Hess
  • Game Show Host

Each role will require memorizing dialogue between a half-page and a full page. Strong voices are encouraged for actors and guides.

The event will feature two sit-down performances Oct. 3 at Luttrell Barn Cultural Center. Oct. 4 and 5 will be the walk itself in downtown Craig. Walks will leave every 15 minutes starting 5 p.m. with the last tour leaving at 7 p.m. Tours begin at Museum of Northwest Colorado.

The show will go on rain or shine. In the event of rain, the performance will go in the museum.
