ATV rollover accident sends woman to hospital Monday afternoon

Craig — The female driver of an all-terrain vehicle suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon after rolling the machine.
The rollover accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. as the driver was attempting to turn the ATV in a private driveway on Moffat County Road 30, said Craig Fire and Rescue Lieutenant Chris Mercer.
The name of the injured driver has not yet been released. There were no passengers on the ATV at the time of the accident.
New tires had just been installed on the ATV and may have contributed to the accident. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been a factor in the wreck.
“It was pretty cut and dried and speed wasn’t an issue,” Mercer said.
The woman who was not wearing a helmet and was transported to The Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, Mercer said. “If you’ve on an ATV please be sure to wear a helmet.”
