A former Meeker business owner was arrested Friday, June 27, on multiple charges related to child sexual assault and exploitation, following an investigation by the Meeker Police Department, according to a statement released on Saturday.

Gypsy Josh Soul, 35, formerly known as Joshua David Solt, faces charges including sexual assault on a child, sexual exploitation of a child, enticement of a child, and internet luring of a child, said the statement. The arrest comes after a months-long investigation that began in March when a concerned citizen reported disturbing materials connected to Soul.

According to Meeker Police, the investigation revealed the possibility of multiple victims and incidents potentially spanning several jurisdictions. Authorities in those areas have been notified.

Police emphasized their commitment to supporting victims and encouraged anyone with information about Soul or similar incidents to come forward.

“Given the sensitive nature of this case, particularly concerning minors who may be reluctant to come forward due to fear, embarrassment, or the mistaken belief that they are to blame, the Meeker Police Department wants to make it clear: your voice matters,” the department said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Meeker Police Department at 970-878-5555. Updates on the case will be posted to the department’s Facebook page.

Police remind the public that criminal charges are formal accusations and that Soul is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
