Annual Ski and Skate slated for Saturday at Yampa River State Park

The cross-country trail is groomed and the pond has been cleared in anticipation for the annual Ski and Skate at Yampa River State Park.

The event, slated for Saturday, features a full day of family friendly activities, including cross-country skiing, ice skating, wildlife viewing, and a small sledding hill for the kids.

Activities continue after dark with moonlight cross-country skiing, skating and sledding.



Hat dogs and hot chocolate will be served.

Yampa River State Park, located about 15 miles east of Craig, is managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife.



The park boasts a 134-mile stretch of the Yampa River and offers a variety of wildlife viewing experiences.

Parks and Wildlife manage 42 state parks, more than 300 wildlife areas, all of Colorado’s wildlife, and a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities.
