Alleged assault case under investigation
It has been more than a month since Jason Otis Miles, 22, reported to the Moffat County Sheriff’s Department that he had been assaulted during a party.
The Moffat County District Attorney Office decided not to pursue the case. According to Sheriff’s Department Detective K.C. Hume, the case has been reopened.
“We turned the case over to the district attorney and he decided not to pursue the case,” said Hume. “New information has surfaced that has allowed us to reopen our investigation.”
The assault allegedly took place at an address on Moffat County Road 7. Miles said he was assaulted by high school students at a party who also attempted to set him on fire.
