4-H to hold awards banquet
Moffat County 4-H will hold its annual achievement night at 6:30 Saturday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion. Dinner will be pot-luck, so bring a favorite casserole. After the dinner, all the overall final awards for the 4-H program will be awarded.
DeLaine Brown, Extension Office director, believes the night is a fun way to wrap up the 4-H year.
“It’s just kind of a whole evening for the 4-H families to get together and other members of the community to get together and have a good time,” said Brown.
Awards to be given out include 8-inch by 10-inch picture trophies and 4-H participant of the year.
Christina Louthan will give a presentation on her 4-H sponsored, six week trip to Austria, including a slide presentation.
After the presentation the fun begins with a dance and an event called “fun on the boardwalk. “Fun on the boardwalk is a variety of games and activities in which the more than 300 people attending the event may participate.
The event gives people who participate in 4-H a chance to be acknowledged for what they have done in the program.
“The 4-H kids in Moffat County have accomplished a lot,” said Brown. “They work hard for what they do. The dinner is just kind of how those kids get recognized for their efforts.”
For this week’s Hometown Hero, the Craig Press is pleased to honor Steve Walls.
