2012-13 Seniors Out And About Trips And Activities
Registration: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. You can also mail your form and payment to: Craig Parks and Recreation, 300 W. 4th Street or sign up online at http://www.ci.craig.co.us.
Registration Deadline: Registration deadline is the Wednesday before each trip unless otherwise stated. Some overnight trips that require lodging reservations and/or ticketed events may require a different deadline. Those deadlines will be stated in the activities.
Cancellation Policy: Our cancellation policy for an overnight stay or ticketed event requires that you cancel two weeks prior to departure to get a full refund. If you cancel less than two weeks prior to the event you will NOT receive a refund. We understand emergencies may arise and these will be considered privately on a case by case basis. Should you “No Show” for a FREE trip you will be charged $15 for your seat.
Payment: If you would like to sign up for numerous trips and can’t pay for them at the time of registration we will be glad to make payment arrangements. Call us at 826-2004 for details.
Health and Physical Consideration: Due to the strenuous nature of traveling and touring, please be realistic about your health and physical abilities. Many trips involve walking, uneven terrain, long periods of standing or sitting, climbing stairs and getting into and off the van multiple times. Staff and assistants are not available to help with any of these physical activities. Please pack lightly on overnight trips. Travelers must be able to carry their own belongings and luggage. You may register a family member, friend or caregiver for a trip to assist you; supervisor approval required.
Itineraries: Detailed itineraries will be mailed out approximately one week before each trip. Departure time in non-negotiable. Late participants will be left and should not expect a refund. Please remember that after our departure time, that time listed are approximate.
“Win it Big” in Blackhawk! Plan on leaving early in the morning so you will have plenty of time to fill those pockets. Date Tuesday, Nov. 6
Sleigh Ride Dinner
Gig out those winter clothes and Bundle up/ Hitch up the horse! We are going on a Winter Sleigh Ride.
Date: Monday, Nov. 26
Fee: $85 (includes dinner and sleigh ride)
Parade of Lights, Zoo Lights and Shopping
Where wildlife meets wild light!! We will experience a holiday light safari, featuring more than 150 animated animals sculptures that swing through trees, jump across lawns, hide in bushes and appear in places where they’re least expected. Then of course while there why shouldn’t we enjoy the convenient grandstand seating available at the start of the parade route across from the beautifully lit City & County Building. Since this will be taking place at night we will need something to fill the days and what better to do than our CHRISTMAS SHOPPING. Be ready, these two days are going to be busy!!!

Ugly Christmas sweater (or vest) contest
Believe it or not your “Ugly Christmas Sweater” is going to benefit the children of Craig as the Seniors donate a new gift to the Toys for Tots Drive. Every year there are more children who don’t receive a gift at Christmas. This year there will be a few less. Dig deep into the closet or search the internet for the most hideous and ugliest Christmas Sweater you can find. Bring a NEW unwrapped gift for a child with a value of at least $10 and you will be entered in the contest! After our judges select out first, second and third winners we will enjoy a dessert bar filled with sweets to treat! Prizes will be awarded! Join us at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Center of Craig, to see who owns the “UGLIEST CHRISTMAS SWEATER” in Craig, Colorado! Start searching for that sweater now!

Christmas Light Tour
Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells! Know all of your Christmas Carols so you can sing along. View the spectacular holiday lighting as our vans tour the City of Craig. We will pick up everyone in the McDonald’s parking lot. When we return we can go in and have something sweet to completer our evening!
