2 students from Colorado Northwestern Colorado Community receive Rising Star Award

— College students from Craig and Rangely were among this year’s Rising Star Awards recipients.

Laura Secules, of Craig, and Matthew Sandin, of Rangely, were the Colorado Northwestern Colorado Community college students selected to receive the award.

Rising Star Awards recognize the outstanding college and community services contributions of students and staff across the Colorado Community College System of which CNCC is a part.



Honorees must show a high level of involvement in campus leadership, activities, be enrolled in at least nine credit hours at the time of their nomination and have a GPA of 3.0.

An awards ceremony and honorary luncheon was held on April 11 at Arapahoe Community College’s Littleton campus where honorees received commemorative plaques and photographs.



The Colorado Community College System, its State Student Advisory Council and Arapahoe Community College produced the event that was sponsored by the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association.
