Nearly 300 pounds of king crab legs made their way into the bellies of more than 150 Craig residents during Crabfest 2009.

The annual Craig Chamber of Commerce fundraiser was Saturday night at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig.

The event included stand-up comedian Troy Baxley, of Denver, and DJ Jorin Rudd, of Hyperformance Audio Production, for entertainment. It also featured live and silent auctions to raise funds for the Craig Chamber of Commerce and Moffat County Visitor Center.

Christina Currie, executive director of the Craig Chamber of Commerce, said officials do not know how much money the auctions and regular ticket sales raised, but they plan to tally a final count this week.

The $50 meal ticket included all you can eat king crab legs, red potatoes, corn on the cob, herb and cheese biscuits and a dessert buffet.

Christina Currie, executive director of the Craig Chamber of Commerce, said she considered the event a success at its new host site. The event was previously at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion.
