Mark Jones was received by the Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the age of 65. Born Adrian Mark Jones on November 26, 1958, in Craig, Colorado, to John (Jack) Wilmer Jones and Wilma Jean (Leger) Jones. Mark graduated from Moffat County High School in 1977.
Following high school, Mark began his career in public service, first joining the Moffat County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff and later the Craig Police Department and the Craig Fire Department. However, it was his calling as a pastor that brought him the greatest joy. Mark served as Pastor at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship in Norwood and later at Community Bible Fellowship Assembly of God in Nucla, CO. He had a deep love for people and a heart for service, always willing to sacrifice his own comfort to help others.
Mark was active in his community having served as a member of the Nucla/Naturita Fire Department, both as an EMT and firefighter for many years and having served on the Nucla Town Board. Known for his quick wit and a talent for telling stories, Mark had an incredible ability to connect with people, offering encouragement and support wherever he went.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jean Jones; his brothers, David and Michael Jones; and his infant son, Joshua Michael Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica “Skitter” (Zeck) Jones; his children, Kelly Kronsberg, Megan (John) Breazeale, and Maddison Jones, Chad and Chris Antonson; his brother, Daniel Jones; and his grandchildren, Krimson, Khloe, and Kooper Kronsberg, Alissah Lundstrom, Frannie, Tommy, and Jack Breazeale, Chloe, CJ, and Paige Antonson, his great-granddaughter, Everly Morris, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mark’s legacy of service, compassion, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life was held at the New Hope Pentecostal Church of God, Saturday, November 23rd in Naturita, CO.
