Craig City Council to hear concerns on possible rehabilitation center

Craig City Council will hear from several entities during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 at Craig City Hall.

Among the discussion points for the meeting are Craig Conrad addressing concerns about the potential rehabilitation center going into the former Moffat County School District administration building.

Jayne Morley will also present to councilors a funding request for Museum of Northwest Colorado and Moffat County Libraries, while Ashley Simonet of Northwest Colorado Center for Independence will give a presentation on sidewalks in Craig.

Preceding the council meeting at 3 p.m. May 28 at Moffat County Courthouse will be a joint services workshop between Moffat County and city departments.

Topics will include Loudy-Simpson Park, cemetery property, and Maybell sewage, though no formal actions will be taken by officials in attendance.

Moffat commissioners finalizing fair bands, wellness center vendor

The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners is close to finalizing music plans for this year’s county fair, which is on the agency’s agenda for the Tuesday, April 30 meeting.

Commissioners will also receive an Employee Wellness Center vendor recommendation from Jeff Comstock, the county’s natural resources director, and Bruce Sillitoe of BLM’s Little Snake River Field Office.

Craig City Council to swear in new mayor, members Tuesday

Craig City Council will swear in newly elected councilors Paul James, Steven Mazzuca and Brian MacKenzie, as well as Jarrod Ogden as the town’s new mayor during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at council chambers, 300 W. Fourth St.

Following the induction ceremony will be an election a new mayor pro-tem, as well as recognition of outgoing councilors.

A social event at 5:30 p.m. for councilors will precede the meeting.

Among the items on the agenda are a presentation on Human Trafficking Awareness Month; permit requests for groups at Grand Old West Days and Moffat County Fair; and city maintenance business.

Yampa Valley Golf Course bar liquor license on docket for Moffat County Commissioners

Among the items on the agenda for the April 16 meeting for the Moffat County Board of County Commissioners is the matter of a liquor license for Yampa Valley Bar & Grill at Yampa Valley Golf Course.

The eatery is set to open at the course for the spring and summer season.

Other items of business at the meeting — which takes place at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday — are a presentation on Human Resource Council from Moffat County United Way Executive Director Kristen Vigil, a memorandum of understanding between the county and Browns Park Alumni Association, and a proclamation for National Day of Prayer.

Moffat County, Craig joint services meeting Tuesday

A joint services committee workshop consisting of Moffat County and City of Craig officials takes place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at the Parks and Recreation conference room at 300 W. Fourth St.

Among those attending are Moffat County Commissioner Ray Back, City Councilors Derek Duran and Chris Nichols, and additional county and city representatives.

There will be no official actions taken during the meeting.

Among discussion items are presentations from Moffat County Tourism Association, Parks and Rec, and other entities.

Moffat County Local Marketing District meeting changes venues

Craig City Hall will host the Moffat County Local Marketing District during the board’s regular meeting beginning 4 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the council chambers at 300 W. Fourth St.Board members, who normally meet at Colorado Northwestern Community College will consider funding requests for Octoberfest, an enduro race in May, the Dinosaur Welcome Center, and receive an update from way-finding committee on the sign project slated for this year.

LMD’s next round of event funding applications will be due Oct. 31. The event application is available on the Moffat County website. All other funding requests need to use the Colorado Common Grant application also available on the county site.

In order to be on the agenda, requests for funding need to be in no later than one week prior to the monthly meetings that are normally held the second Thursday. Funding requests need to be sent to moffatlmdsecretary@gmail.comRequests to be placed on the agenda that are not related to funding need to be made to Luke Tucker, board chair, by emailing luke@mountainairspray.com.

Moffat County Tourism Association director’s job description amendments planned

The changes to the job description for the executive director is one of many items on the agenda for the Moffat County Tourism Association board when it meets 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 in the conference room on the second floor of the Bank of Colorado.

Board members will also review and sign an annual conflict of interest agreement.

Moffat County Tourism Association wants public comments on almost $15K in spending

Moffat County Tourism Association will open its meeting for comments on its plans to spend some $12,000 on advertising for the area in 2020.

MCTA also wants public comment on $2,500 for 16 county road indicator signs, 10 boat ramp signs and 10 camping signs in the region.

Moffat County Commissioners meeting changed to Wednesday morning

The Moffat County Commissioners will meet Wednesday instead of Tuesday the week of April 1 – no fooling. The meeting is scheduled for the regular time of 8:30 a.m. in the BOCC Chambers at the courthouse, Suite 130, 221 W. Victory Way.
