Craig City Council making moves on improving local businesses

The city of Craig is unveiling its business grant program to the public Monday, March 25.

The program will be discussed along with other economic opportunities for residents and businesses at the city’s Economic Development Committee meeting at 2 p.m in the lower level of city hall.

Moffat County to sign natural gas pipeline resolution at special Tuesday meeting

The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners will show its support for a major natural gas pipeline stretching from Colorado to Oregon’s coast.

Commissioners are calling a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to sign a resolution declaring Moffat County wants “an active role” in helping state agencies and Native American tribes in Utah, Wyoming and Colorado bring natural gas to the west coast for shipment abroad.

Hospital Transformation Project, physician contracts top Memorial Regional Health agenda

An update on the Colorado Hospital Transformation Project will be the topic of an educational presentation over dinner when the Memorial Regional Health Board of Trustees meets at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 21.

HTP is an initiative mandated by Senate Bill 17-267 and under development by Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing Department.

According to HCPF, the HTP is “set to change health care delivery.” Delivery system reform incentive payments, or DSRIP, will be used to support hospital-led projects to:

• Improve patient outcomes through care redesign and integration with the community- based providers

• Improve the patient experience in the care delivery system and support appropriate care in appropriate settings

• Lower Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) costs through reductions in avoidable care

Staff at MRH have been working with community partners since September to develop the health system’s approach to meeting HTP goals, as reported in the Craig Press.

At their regular meeting, beginning at 6 p.m., board members will convene an executive session to discuss physician contracts.

City officials gearing up for Craig City Council election forum

The city of Craig gave residents notice more than three city council members may attend the Craig Press’ forum at 6 p.m. Monday, March 18 at the Moffat County High School Auditorium.

The notice added that no action will be taken by councilors.

Moffat County commissioners include fairgrounds lighting on March 19 agenda

The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners will meet this coming Tuesday, March 19 to discuss a new minor subdivision, a budget supplemental, and the waiving of bidding for a fairgrounds lighting project, among other business.

Moffat County Local Marketing District to consider request to fund Dinosaur visitor center Thursday

When they meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 14, members of the Moffat County Local Marketing District board will consider a request by the Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado to Fund the Dinosaur Visitor Center.

AGNC is requesting $13,500 in operational funding to close a funding gap that would normally be provided by the Colorado Tourism Office.

The meeting will be held in Room 185 at Colorado Northwestern Community College, Craig Campus, 2801 W. Ninth St.

Moffat County Tourism Association cancels March 13 meeting

Moffat County Tourism Association announced this week that the organization has canceled its March 13 meeting.

MCTA will convene again in April.

Craig City Council cancels March 12 meeting, reschedules for March 11

Due to a scheduling conflict, Craig’s City Council announced Wednesday, March 5, it will reschedule its regular Tuesday, March 12, meeting.

A special meeting will instead be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 11 at Craig City Hall.
