Early morning crash near Meeker closes Colo. 13, one person confirmed dead

MEEKER — A Friday-morning, single-vehicle crash near Meeker has claimed the life of one man, sent three others to the hospital, and closed Colo. Highway 13.

According to Trooper Gary Cutler, a public information officer for Colorado State Patrol, CSP troopers were dispatched to milepost 59 on Colo. 13 about 7:44 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in response to a report of a rollover crash.

Cutler said the vehicle left the roadway, and rolled an undetermined number of times before coming to rest about 200 feet from the roadway.

He added that three occupants were extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital for observation.

A fourth occupant of the vehicle, a 62-year-0ld male, was killed in the crash.

As of 11:40 a.m. Friday, Cutler said the roadway remained closed.

The identities of the injured passengers and deceased man were not immediately available.
