    .RAPID SNOW MELT OF A LATE SEASON SNOW PACK HAS CAUSED CREEKS AND
    STREAMS TO RUN HIGH IN THE UPPER ARKANSAS RIVER BASIN OF CHAFFEE
    AND LAKE COUNTIES. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
    ANTICIPATED PRIMARILY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS...AND
    SOME OF THE STRONGER STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LOCALLY
    HEAVY RAINFALL. THIS WILL INCREASE THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING
    AS STREAMS ARE ALREADY RUNNING AT CAPACITY IN SOME AREAS.

    LA GARITA MOUNTAINS...NORTHERN SAN LUIS VALLEY...NORTHERN
    SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...SOUTHERN SAN LUIS VALLEY...
    SOUTHERN SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY
    AND WET MOUNTAIN VALLEY.
    * UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT TONIGHT
    * THE RAPID MELT OF A LATE SEASON SNOWPACK HAS CAUSED CREEKS AND
    STREAMS IN THE MOUNTAINS TO RUN HIGH. THUNDERSTORMS THIS
    AFTERNOON AND EVENING WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LOCALLY
    HEAVY RAINFALL...WHICH COULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING SHOULD THEY
    IMPACT LOCATIONS ALREADY EXPERIENCING HIGH FLOWS.
    * RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO THE MOUNTAINS SHOULD PAY CLOSE
    ATTENTION TO WATER LEVELS. BE PREPARED TO FIND HIGHER GROUND
    SHOULD WATER LEVELS RISE...AND FOLLOW ANY EVACUATION ORDERS
    FROM LOCAL OFFICIALS.
