Walter Way Fire footage

Craig Fire/Rescue and Bureau of Land Management firefighters responded Thursday to what officials are calling the Walter Way Fire off Johnson Road about two miles east of Craig. The wildfire, which started at 12:21 p.m., burned about five acres and was extinguished around 3 p.m., fire officials said. Craig Fire/Rescue firefighters conducted on scene cause and origin investigations. The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office is conducting its own investigation to determine if criminal activity played a role in the fire’s ignition.

I hope this July 4th, the Craig Police and The Moffat County Sheriff step up patrols to stop and arrest people that set off fireworks.
