April has long been a month dedicated to children in Craig and Moffat County. On Saturday, 28 organizations and more than 250 children capped an end to recognize The Month of the Young Child and Child Abuse Prevention Month with the annual Celebrate Children Festival at Centennial Mall. The free event, sponsored by the Moffat County Early Childhood Coalition, featured face painting, balloon animals, arts and crafts, candy, and games, as well as educational information for parents. It's designed to stress the importance of early childhood education in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. “If it wasn’t for all of these people here volunteering, this would never happen,” said Carol Taylor, Moffat County School District preschool director.
