Since the Daily Press is suppose to have reporters and ask important questions about things that effect the citizens of Moffat County. I have a couple questions they could ask our city council.
1. “The Denver firm also will prepare preliminary site plans, a site layout, prepare a business model for construction, operations and maintenance and assemble a financial team to calculate taxpayer costs.”
Why in the hell would anyone pay to have site plans, layout and all of the other stuff done in the study without knowing if the taxpayers want a rec center???
2. “Jim Ferree told the council that in 2003 the county was in financial trouble and other parts of the community seemed to face economic strains and uncertain futures.”
Does Mr. Ferree and the city council think that this country and the taxpayer's are not facing economic strains and a uncertain future in 2008?
I would like to thank Mr. Herod for at least having some common sense. Does the rest of the council think the wave pool is going to fix it self?
I am guessing the city could have done a mail out ballot or put the question on the November ballot for a lot less than $20,000.00 and would have had a clear answer.
It would have made the taxpayers think they have a voice and that voice is being heard.

Thanks ACET !!!! Now I would like to see the opinion of the editorial board on the job the rest of the legal system does after the arrests. The DA, and Judge's. Law inforcment risks their lives to bring dishonest people to justice just to have them plea out or just a slap on the wrist. Ok editorial board what is your opinion????

Looking at the plans for the college, it looks like they have a rec center and gym in the plans. Is this the rec. center the city wants to build or will we have another one. What is the College going to do with Trapper Health Club? I think they own it. Just wait until K-mart goes out of business and buy that building. Put a pool where the garden center is. The building is big enough for every other receation a person could think of. Well maybe not baseball !!!!

Native, This is what I do in reguards to meat. I find a local farmer/rancher that is raising an animal for his own meat supply. They usally don't need the whole animal and will sell you half. I always feel if they are raising it for themselves it is going to be good. Haven't been disapointed yet…By the way, I have bought meat at Mountain Meats & Brother's. Never a problem. I love Mountain Meats sausage selection.

Let me see if I have this right: Some people here and in the newspaper article this morning are questioning the tactic's used by law enforcement to protect our kid's and to try and stop underage drinking and a possible tragedy. What the hell is wrong with you guy's? To the people who are complaining about the birth date being to small to see. If the article is correct about Grand Futures sending out warning letters and businesses still failed, How stupid are you? If my business depended on liquor sales I would make sure I followed the law. Don't blame your mistakes on others. Thank you to law enforcement and to the businesses that are legal.

Well come on Daily Press!!!!! Where is the rest of the story. Who were the businesses????
Don't leave us hanging….. There should be no warning for the businesses that failed, take away their permit for awhile… It is not rocket science to uphold this law, just check everyones ID. The one's who complied should be comended…
