I remember as a little girl walking to Lex and Goldies and petting the horses with my grandmother. They have been a part of that neighborhood for years. If the neighbors are not bothered with the horses, I say let them stay. It is not like Lex lets them run wild like most people in town do with their dogs and cats, and they are certainly well cared for. Let this good man keep his horses.

I know about the school system and how “fast” they stay on top of things. My stepson was allowed by his mother to quit school at 15, against the law in the state of Colorado. Only after my husband stepped in and insisted that he either go back to school or be homeschooled that is when his mother started to homeschool him. This was the beginning of last year. It was only this past June that a principle from the high school finally contacted us asking us why my stepson had not been in school this past year. A full YEAR! They did not even know that he was being home schooled.

Right now I don't have to many good things to say about the Moffat County Sheriffs Dept. We called them for a complaint about 2 months ago. After waiting almost 45 minutes a sheriff did come out this way, but could not find out house. We could see him and we even tried to wave him over but he turned around and left the area, I called the dispatcher back only to be told that she was not sure what sheriff responded to my call and it would be awhile before she could track who it was down to send him back to our house. We never did see a sheriff again that day and have never been called to see what our complaint was. So we have decided that it was a waste of our time to ever call for help if we need it from the good old boys club. I should have told told them that there was a shooting going on (which could have been going on they did not know) and then we would have the whole dept. out here. I am not impressed at all with any of the dept. And hope that we will never need their assists again because we know we will more then likely be ignored. As far as the courthouse deal, I thought it was to show what a great dept we have.. *L* I can not wait till the Kiwanis Play next year!

You are so right CindyLou, I agree with you 100%. I have been with Dr. Told since he bought the clinic from Dr. Witham. My son has been sick since Dr. Told left. I don't trust any other dr. in town so I had to go out of town for treatment. I guess I need to call and get my families records not sure what dr. to move them to . It more then likely will be a Steamboat dr.

Lonelyone, does that mean that Chief Johnston has the right to drive it to do his personal business with his granddaughter with him? Now come on, I know a little about the fire dept. and I know that you can not respond if you have your children with you. I understand about him having to get there (at a fire) ahead of every one else to let the on coming fire trucks know what they have going on. But come on, again he can not respond when he has granddaughter with him. Oh and by the way, during the time of Chief Cotton the fire dept did not have a “chief” vehicle.

And not only that but what about the chief of the fire dept. using the “chiefs” vehicle for his own personal use? I have seen him everywhere around town in this vehicle. Why are we, the taxpayers, paying for gas, and tires oil changes etc… for his personal use?

Oh yes to some point I do agree with you. I was just thinking yesterday who would bring this subject up on here. I am glad someone has. I live 15 miles out of town and I swear that EVERY out of state hunter hunts out this way! They not only take up the whole road on blind curves but they STOP in the middle of the road without no notice, trying to scope out a “big one” out of a small herd of nothing but does and babies, and several times have almost caused accidents. I am SO sick of them coming on a private road because they think that they can get to something from here. They don't care about No Hunting signs and they could care less that homes and/or a road are less then 500 yds away. I have had it with them, and I am not talking about every hunter so dont get me wrong. But I HUGE handful of them, and they all seem to be out of state, thet think that just because they “paid for a hunt in Colorado” that they are entitled to preferred treatment. Well they dont get it from me! Next time one stops in front of me without notice or takes up the whole road on a blind curve or even not on a blind curve, I will get their license number and turn them in. Do I sound to harsh? *L*

I had the same thought when I read the article and went to town to find gas had dropped, alot. Not just a penny like normal, but ten cents! Coincidental….Ummm Maybe….but I think not
