sorry ranger, i don't type very well. then being where i am at the inter-net flashes in and out some times loosing letters ,words even whole lines of text. couple that with my dyslexia it makes it hard at times. I did figure you got the jist of what i was saying. I realize we all have are pet peeves, mine is people that feel they need to correct others . What ever makes you feel better about your self is all good by me. I would try harder for you but being criticized by some one that isn't willing to even put there name on the board means very little. Have a nice day peace to you and yours

valley local, do you really think the police have the right to come on private property and check ID's? You are right you are suppose to have one while in public but to be checked while at a bbq on private property, thats harassment. I think they are required to get a search warrant before invading your private property.Thats how it used to be in a free Country. you refer to the parrot heads as the non profit, did not no hey had a liquor lic. to sell booze. It does not change the facts they would not allow the VFW to sell on there own land. I am sure they meet your requirement or would have given time. which i don't think they where.I would be all for just saying no booze at all. It would be better than seeing everyone sneaking it in. I seen lots of people there with there little bottles there last year. then i had to pick them up out of my parents yard the next day. I must say it is the event craig ever puts on i have enjoyed it and will miss it.As you say a little research go's along way.

I would guess that this “move” is coming around because of who getts to sell
alcohol at this event. last year the only vendor was jw snacks even though the VFW owns the park where the event takes place.I ask my self why? the answer is simple, the kick back the city got. It is sad to see that what was once a community event is being changed so that a few good old boys can profit off it. I would like to know how moving it benefits the people of Craig? the many people that use to walk to the park. they will be forced to drive. that will decrease attendance. then you have the people that do drive leaving after sitting in the sun drinking all day. that will increase the danger factor and DUI revenue . I have always enjoyed the event but last year was harassed
by the police at a party around the park, cops checking id's on private property.
After living in Craig for thirty eight years this is the only event that ever made Craig seem like a community. it would be a shame to move it and take that away. i believe by doing this you would con-dim it to a slow death. It is my opinion it should go back to the way it was. people should bring their own liqour

what a joke ACET is no diffrent than gram -net. We all remmember them and there lieing cheating ways, right. Vanatta says drugs are more expensive in craig? how does he know this? what proof does he have, or does he just get to say what ever he wants? he also tryed to site a report from 1950 while the medical pot issue was in full swing. missleading or lieing to everyone there. The fact is the police department is the problem with craig. they lie and add charges ramrod people with no thought.

I grew up here. it is the coolest place to live as a kid. there is a slow moving river just out side of town a big city park with swimming and wave pool. friendly , helpfully people with very little crime. Craig is safe from one side to the other , i would freely walk around at night in Craig. the hunting camping and wilderness set Craig apart. we are at the foot of black mountain an the beginning of the high desert, it's beautifully all year. I truly love Craig.
Now for the bad ,Craigg and the goodOlee boy's that runCraigg. theycontroll everything. They manipulate citycounsele , the police and sheriffs. the city politics are dirty to the core. example; i just received a ticket for cat at large for 800$ Craig politicss suck craig the area and people are great.

It isn't about the service provided the service is fine if not better. The vehicle right or wrong don't really bother me, think of the absurd amount of police vehicles and there abuse,
The question as i see it, is it really necessary and is that the best use/value for the $? The money they have is not enough, it never is. That means we get stuck paying for the rest of it. Exactly why build a training center when there is one as close as Hayden and Rifle? I'm sure if we talked with there facilities an agreement could be reached for our men to train there, for much cheaper. In the article they said it was short sighted to wait but in the current hostile environment the energy industry is facing what makes them think we will continue to grow? More likely in this boom bust town of Craig with out the coal we will shrink. If that happens we will get stuck paying for a second station that does not increase coverage. As for them saying building coast are down? Do they believe this or are they selling it to me? Gas/diesel going up daily and they think building coast are going down? The only coast that is down is labor because no one has a job.
I remember voting for the mill in 2006 i think. I also remember voting against this training center before that. When i voted for it, it was for new trucks and equipment. I understand that These things need replaced. I am glad they have been replaced and they have extra money thats good! Why is it they want to spend it so bad? How about save it for the next truck you need and give the rest of us a break. You have extra so your idea is to spend it and ask for more typical government thinking. In reality the mill increase in 2006 should be voided, they should keep the extra $ for future coasts and training. Times are hard and getting harder for every one, everyone not living on the tax payer dime.
If this is built the other one should be sold and the money put in to the new one. If they think they are going on a overly large amount of calls let them only respond to fires and mojor car accidents. That should cut there calls and the demand on them and us.
