Question of the week
Did the Moffat County School Board make the right decision in replacing MCHS athletic director Rick Penner, who had been considered missing after not being heard from for about a week?

allen13, where in my post did i say anything about ranchers wanting the government to bail us out?! We didn't ask for money and don't expect any. So what a moronic generalization you make of ranchers! Not all ranchers are the same, there are good and bad. Its too bad that some of the 'bad' give the rest of us a bad name! And I didn't ask that you all keep your opinions to yourself, you're entitled to speak your mind, as am I. But it is irritating as hell to listen to people who know absolutely nothing about ranching to make such broad, ignorant generalizations! So please keep your ranching opinions to yourself if you know nothing about ranching!I know nothing about your business, therefore I would never tell you how to run your business or your life. And some of the comments on here :(redneck girl) are pure hateful, it is obvious to all that a few certain of you throw daggers at anyone and everyone that has a different opinion than yours! Can we really believe a few gossips that say that Rodney has been shooting elk for years now?! If the shoe were on your feet, how would you feel about so many people saying bad things about you? Alot of you have yourselves up on a pedestal, and you better be careful, because what goes around comes around again. don't be hating.

come on people. Would you eat an elk you just shot if it was starving to death?! I know I wouldn't! And even if this winter was as bad as the last one, and DOW gave out special permits to thin out the herds, Would you want to eat one? I had several die right in front of me! It was the saddest thing. The elk came every day and ate our livestocks hay. They ruined fences and corrals. Maybe you city people don't know or care how much we had to pay for the hay last year. Add to that the cost of absolutely everything going up, and we had to feed even more to our own livestock just to get them through the winter. I know we didn't have any extra hay for the elk. And we damm sure don't have the money to put up 8'fences!! I doubt too many ranchers do! I'm not going to sit and judge Rodney or anyone else, because I know what we went through. So I think you city people who have no idea how to operate a ranch should just keep your comments to yourself. And ourDOW can learn a thing or two from the DOW guys who fed elk down in Gunnison. And we're supposed to be the Elk Hunting Capitol of the World?!

Is there anyone else out there that think the Bulldogs will be lucky if they manage to win one game this year?! Has anyone stopped to question why there is only one senior? That says alot about the coaching if you ask me. In all my years I have never heard of only one senior on an entire football team! According to some friends of mine, they had a son that went out his freshman year, and all those Freshman coaches played was the same 11 or 12 kids on offense and defense the whole game! While 7 or 8 players stood on the sidelines the whole entire game! I've been to enough games and have seen this for myself. I would love to see the Daily Press do a survey of the senior boys up there and ask them why they don't play anymore. Get a number of how many went out each year. Do you think those freshman players that stood on the sidelines went out their soph. year? This probably holds true for wrestling and basketball too. Something to think about CDP?!

I like the forum, even though I haven't posted very often. I would like to see more people use the forum. Its a great way to tell the community what you think without really sticking your neck way out there. I do agree that it gets rather monotonous with just the same few posting on it. I think the CDP should remind its readers once a week that it is there and encourage more use. Advertise that it is a lot like the speak up column you used to have. I might as well give my thoughts on a few topics......I don't really see why you print Raftopoulas article every week, I don't enjoy reading someones personal diary! I wish you would write articles about how junky some places in town look, this would bring awareness and hopefully shame to those whose places are so trashed it really is an eyesore. (north of town on the way to Baggs) I still disagree with the CDP printing spanish pages once a week and I wish we would get more restaurants in town other than more mexican ones. I'm also still fed up with getting raped at the gas pumps. Just last night it went up .08c! Just a few thoughts..... maybe people could actually respond on this forum without slinging mud.

With every article that was written about the deer and elk this winter, since late December, the DOW always mentioned that they didn't have the funding to feed them. So we all got to watch them starve to death and get hit on the highway for 3 solid months!!! By God, when the state collects all that money from hunting licenses next year and every year after, they better put aside a good chunk of it for an emergency feed program! Because we are not going to listen to another year of excuses from them. There will be no excuse for next year or whenever we suffer another winter like this one. Wake up DOW!

To Dempsey, How retarded are you? "Stop picking on all the illegal immigrants" Since when does busting a bunch of drug dealers who just happen to be illegal mean that all of a sudden we're picking on them? Its because of ignorant people like you who want to be nice to absolutely everyone, and help them financially every way possible, is why we have a huge immigration problem! Bravo to the police force for a job well done! Now lets see how the DA and the judge handle this or just give them a slap on the wrist like they've done on all the meth dealers. If this doesn't get nipped in the bud now, we will soon be seeing Mexican street gangs like Grand Jct. is.

Why would the Daily Press choose to write a story about these people spending Christmas in Jail? Couldn't you write about more deserving people and the random good things people do for others in need during the Holidays? Do these people think we would actually feel sorry for them?
What about Sandborn? She's already spent a previous Christmas in jail and found out how much her family means to her and how devestating it was then. Well, she hasnt' changed anything has she? But we're supposed to believe what a good person she is? Get real! Did she think about her family while she was doing drugs and selling them to young people? And we wonder why there is such a big drug problem in Craig? If you can't do the time, then don't do the crime!
