Your post had me thinking over the past 24 hours. I really have no answers, but I pray for reconciliation in this instance and in all instances where families are divided. Our life on this earth is too short as it is.

I find you to be an extremely thought-provoking and intelligent writer. That is rare these days. You remind me of someone I knew many years ago. He is involved in a very similar situation, I suspect.

I wish you well my friend and hope that you may find some answers and peace on this subject. God Bless!

What an act of courage, to take this unimaginable pain and try and help others. I am so touched by this. May God give you and your family strength each day, Jeana. You are an inspiration.

Taking Chance” is an amazing movie and I believe that every American should watch it. I am very proud of our community high school for showing it!

I am a Craig native and have been fortunate enough to have my son enrolled for 10 years in the daycare center where she has been the Director. Jill is an amazing advocate of children and I personally have worked with her regarding developmental issues while our son was at her center. She is very well-versed in this area and is a great choice for this position!

If you are intelligent enough to log on to the Daily Press everyday via a computer to read the daily news, then you obviously have the ability to LEARN! Therefore, you should be able to assimilate into the prevailing culture. Therefore….I should not have to sift through the on-line paper trying to figure out which articles are in our native language of english! There is just something fundamentally wrong with trying to read about two children from Craig in spanish! i am not a prejudice person and come from a family of immigrants myself, however, they learned the language, paid the taxes and became functioning US citizens.

I currently live in a city that is over 80% hispanic and our local paper is in English. They are consciously choosing to encourage assimilation instead of just enabling a specific population. Maybe they remember the old melting pot days! : )

    assimilate” MEANS:
To incorporate and absorb into the mind: assimilate knowledge.

To make similar; cause to resemble.

Linguistics To alter (a sound) by assimilation.

To absorb (immigrants or a culturally distinct group) into the prevailing culture.

Not much going on to draw us back. I think they really lost a large number of participants when they took the forum down and changed it. I haven't enjoyed the new format at all. It seems harder to follow.

Does anyone know what happened to Mike? He was a classmate and I was surprised and saddened to see the obituary.

Well- Well! It is nice to see that things haven't changed much in MOCO in the last 20 years. A co-worker just returned from this weekend's basketball event and her impression of Craig was great!! She stated that she couldn't believe how the fans acted. She said they were down right mean and rude to the players, coaches and other parents. She “couldn't wait to get out of that town.”

Imagine how proud I was of my hometown!

I have included a bit on sportmanship- perhaps it can be passed on to parents, players and coaches you interact with.

Good sportsmanship occurs when teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials treat each other with respect.

Kids learn the basics of sportsmanship from the adults in their lives, especially their parents and their coaches. Kids who see adults behaving in a sportsmanlike way gradually come to understand that the real winners in sports are those who know how to persevere and to behave with dignity - whether they win or lose a game.

Come on Moffat County- Show some class!
