Now that the shoe is on the other foot, the Commissioners are whining. Seems that when the Congressional Delegation was Republican, we didn't hear a peep from them.

My concern is that there is no net loss of jobs, What difference is it if a person is making $25 dollars per hour makiing solar panels or working in a coal mine? The coal, and oil and gas, will run out sometime in the near future. We need to prepare for that day.

There was a study done by a firm, BBC, in conjunction with the endangered fish program in 1998? The study projected tha Craig would grow to 26,000 people by the year 2045. Moreover, Steamboat would grow to more than 65,000. Whether these predictions come true is speculation. Somebody has let the secret out that we are living in paradise!

On How much growth would you like to see in Craig and Moffat County?

I am an American. It matters not who won the election, McCain or Obama. Whoever had won would have gained my respect, no matter which party affiliation. As it turned out, Obama won. Now it is time to be an American and show OUR president some respect. If you can't do that, go somewhere where it doesn't matter.

Good editorial. Many people regard voting as something the other guy will do. But what happens if the other guy does not vote? This seems to be the attitudes of non voters in off year election cycles.

We need to start thinking that if we don't vote, someday someone is going to submit a constitutional amendment that says if we don't vote, we will not going to be able to vote again..ever.

To me, 50 cal, this was an observation. I have to agree that the President-elect's photo should have been on the front page. After all, he is going to be the 44th President of the United States of America. That includes Craig, Moffat County, Colorado. By protocol his photo should have been on the front page. The Daily Press blew it.

"However, range capacity is part of the politics of wildlife, Hampton said. In addition to resident concerns, the DOW has been under “huge pressure” from the Bureau of Land Management, the State Land Board and the U.S. Forest Service to reduce big game populations to make room for cattle grazing leases."

It is this kind of mentality that causes concern to the conservationists. Reduce the elk population to make way for livestock. I do not hunt, but I am a wildlife advocate. To me, if anything gets reduced, it should be livestock AUMs.

Secondly, hunters should not hunt on ATVs or in pickup trucks, First off, hunters are kidding themselves if they think they can sneak up on wildlife. Wildlife hearing is far better than humans as is their sense of smell. Get back to the old fashion way: hunt on foot.

It is not difficult to keep your members of congress, or governor informed of your thoughts. Just write them a letter stating your veiws. I write both Salazars all the time on issues that I feel they need to know and understand. They really appreciate letters from their constistuants like you and I.

What will be the effect on we, who have season passes and expect to ski from 9am to 4pm?And what about the services that we normlly receive? Are they going to cut back on Ski Patrol, Ambassadors or food services. Are they going to cut back on slope grooming?

So many questions and not very many answers for those of us who have already purchased season passes or value packages. And the season has not even begun!
