That's stupid. I understand not wanting it killed but a vigil, seriously? People have way too much free time.

I am not sure I understand why TMH hasn't made the changes the community has requested. I have never read a positive article regarding the management at TMH. I have read articles and comments about the Jennifer MollyPhillps is referring to multiple times and none of them have been positive. I don't know George or Jennifer and I do not use the services at TMH but I don't understand why there isn't a management change. Craig clearly has problems keeping doctors and the community is not pleased with TMH - what does it take to get changes made? New management is what most companies would do. I've never heard of an employee at any other place that is able to get complaint after complaint and remain employed. How many more complaints does TMH have to get before doing something?

Love it! Good luck Dr.Miller, I wish you nothing but the best. Stand up for what's right and for what you believe in. You are the type of doctors that others could learn from. You actually care about your patients. You help people from all walks of life - you do not base your practice on money, you help people when they can't afford medical treatment. You go to peoples houses to help those who cannot make it to your office. You are what doctors used to be before all of the politics! To you being a doctor isn't about the money it's actually about helping, and for that I thank you. The daily press loves having you on the front page because that's the only time people read the paper. Keep on doing what you do Miller! You have plenty of supporters.

I'm a little late to the discussion but I do have a comment. My comment is not about the price of the paper but about the content and specifically the police blotter. I understand that many papers have police blotters but most do not put the individual's name included with the charges. I feel adding the criminals name is hard on the families because Craig is small and everyone knows everyone. I know in cases of rape the paper doesn't print names but I see many blotters that include charges of child abuse or domestic violence and that can be humiliating for kids and the men or women who have been abused. Given that we live in such a small community I would like to encourage the paper not include names in the blotter. I understand that if a criminal commits a crime the community should know I just feel for the victims or the families that have to live with the embarrassment.

The cavy has excellent service in the mornings, we will only go there when a particular waitress is working. However, I have had terrible service there in the evening and the management of that place is terrible. One morning I observed the manager and owner doing nothing while a waitress was not only waiting on tables but was also cooking. I can't imagine the Cavy surviving to much longer with management that poor.
I would welcome a new resturant with good service and affordable food.

I agree with vic. Any crime against a child should result in a life sentence.

Those men are disgusting. It is important now more than ever that we all become aware of all children. It is time we come together and help watch all children, not all parents can be at the bus stop to pick their children up, but for those of us who are lucky enough to have that option - watch for things that look out of sorts. Make sure that you are not only concerned about your own childs well being, but that of all children. Craig comes together in times of need, and nothing is more important than our children. Do not let these disgusting excuses for humans ruin our great, safe community.

Please do not underestimate the education of employees of the mines. Some of these employees are highly educated, with degrees coming from such schools as the Colorado School of Mines. To generalize “mine workers” is a shame! To address the other question Are we 'just Craig'?, yes in the bigger picture, we are just Craig. If you would like for the people of Craig to have other opportunities than the mine, then Craig needs to do something to bring in other businesses. As you say unfortunately communities can not stay the same, well I have lived in Craig for over 20 years and seen very little growth or improvement, so unfortunately because of that we are just Craig. The only reason I have stayed is because of the mines, and when or if all the mines close please know that a large amount of Craig residence will be forced to move, which may in fact have an impact on your job and you may have to move as well. Craig depends heavily on the mining industry, so I would like to say Thank you to all who get up extremely early, and come home extremely late, work deep down in the earth, or with huge equipment. Thank you for all of your hard work, thanks for all you do to contribute to the Craig community by ways of buying a house here, shopping here, and raising your families here. Do not feel like you have nothing to fall back on, as you do.

Talkingturkey, You really seem like you are involved on a much closer basis then the rest of the readers. I have not spent to much time reading about this case but of course I know a little about it, all I have to say is that it does not surprise me that the CPD is involved in any sort of scandal. It is very naive for one to assume that the majority of the Craig police are not just as scandalous as Ken, the only difference is that Ken (finally) got caught and the rest of the force has not. If the police force was not corrupt then you would not have to be defending the entire force, if they had shown the community that they are all fair and competent officers then everyone would know that Ken was the exception and that would be it. The fact of the matter is that the entire force has shown reckless behavior and therefore you are having to defend them.

In response to thepatriot, I completely agree that if you are friends with a cop or their spouse you can get away with anything. I think the majority of the police force have something to hide. The spouses themselves get away with just about anything because they are married to somebody on the force. This is ridiculous.
