One more thought: What was the point of my grandfather fighting in WWII or the thousands of other men & women who gave their lives, during the great Wars, if we now just sit by while the government literally hijacks our Constitutional Rights away from us (that our relatives fought & died for) creating a country of victims and sheep???? What a waste at the deepest level and the core of the soul of this country.

Is that, how, we the People want to think of ourselves as, on our death beds or when we are face to face with God, reviewing the actions of our lives? As cowards?!

"Jantz cited a recent example in which a representative from the U.S. Department of Labor informed local authorities they were planning to apprehend a local resident without a duly active warrant.

“I basically told him, in no uncertain terms, that they were not or I would arrest them for criminal trespass under the state law,” Jantz said. “He told me I couldn’t do that and I basically told him ‘yes I will and you can’t stop me because you are violating the U.S. Constitution.’”

Tim, you rock!!!!!! If every one shows the courage you did, the NDAA Bill will be totally ineffective. It really is hard to believe how few people really understand what took place on 12/31/11 when that bill was signed. It is truly history repeating itself once again. Hitler used the bad economy in Germany to implement the same type laws in WWII to eventually commit genocide. It's amazing how soon people forget history or are so afraid to even look at it, which is why evil thrives over & over & over.

Tim, you are my newest HERO!

It's funny, I never noticed parking being a problem after growing up in Southern California. But, every time I drive down Yampa, the old trashy looking buildings really depress me. The whole street, with the exception of the museum building needs to be torn down and rebuilt. It truly has to be one of the dullest, most depressing - no character towns of anywhere I have ever seen. The last time I was in the Serendipity building for a treat, the ceiling was literally open and falling in to the customers below and many others I've seen are not far behind that. Where are the building inspectors for one? The parking is truly the least of this down town's problems.

Bless your heart Amber for the courage it took to come out and have this in the paper (helping other young girls) & to your husband for staying by your side.

As for Lenahan, I wish it were the 1800's again so he'd get what he truly deserves in a horrible way.....good ole wild west justice. Hopefully, the other inmates "will take care" of him in prison. Sexual predators, need to be dealt with in a brutal way, since they do not stop, & destroy the spirit of children over & over. It's not a matter of forgiveness, it's a matter of getting rid of someone who can not exist in society (& why should the taxpayers cover the cost of their food/shelter in prison.) It burns me up to read what this guy put this lovely girl through.

When you put someone's life above you own, to me that really is the definition of a hero. Mike, it's a beautiful thing knowing you are out there.

We all need to be Heroes. An award well deserved.

Even though I understand Standing Rock's feelings on this, I, too think they shouldn't worry about semantics and should be proud as hek and live up to that logo (smiling). I'd love to see the Native Americans rise above the lives the majority are living and become a strong, thriving nation once again. Nothing would make me happier to see them renew their culture and spirit once again.

Regardless of the outcome, I'm so proud of the Craig Daily Press to put an article like this in our local paper. As an avid Lakotah buff, I love to read anything Native American so thank you for just going outside of Moffat County and having this in our paper. Made my day.

If anyone is interested: "Sioux is a derogatory slang word that means devil. Serpent is the original word for "sioux" but was mistranslated as snake. Nadowessioux is two words Nadowessi and Oux (Nadowessioux). The slang word sioux comes from (Nadowes sioux). This word serpent comes from the Roman Catholic Church. Back when the Catholics first got started every one that wasn't Catholic was considered a child of Lucifer (Wakansica, Satan, the Devil, Serpent etc…). When you get called a serpent they aren't talking about your physical body, their talking about your Spirit, character, personality who you are as a human being." onewhocares 2 years, 10 months ago on Police chief reprimanded for misplacing firearm

It takes months and months of testing and passing polygraphs and drug tests to get into the Communications Center to work, but the guys in orange (the inmates) simply have to commit a crime, be on good behavior and then get into the dispatch center just like that to empty the garbage, etc all unsupervised. What if one of those inmates had found that gun in the bathroom & walked into the communications center & decided to use it? That act of negligence by Vanetta endangered the whole communications (dispatcher staff) that is responsible for the western half of the state of highway troopers. The combination of allowing inmates into dispatch is a tragedy waiting to happen and then having officers leave their loaded firearms around a sure deal to have a horrible incident. Vanetta should be seriously punished for this act and the inmates absolutely not allowed in the Communications Center for obvious reasons. The dispatchers should be protected at all cost.

onewhocares 2 years, 10 months ago on Patrick Germond: Law contrary to Christian doctrine

Two things: #1, this country is just not Christian by any means. There are traditional Native Americans, Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Catholics, Scientologist, Hindus, and on & on. This is not a "Christian Country." (And as a brutally harsh reminder, it was the "Christian" government that committed genocide against millions of our aboriginal peoples.into the early 1900's-just saying)

Secondly, I don't agree with our government's policies at all, but maybe with that one stipulation for birth control & abortion, the politicians and scientist clearly understand the outcome of overpopulation for the masses. We, all feel we have the right to have an untold number of children, but the reality is, lack of resources and starvation will result in the end and the government knows it. Maybe it's time to look at the bigger picture than outside of our own little world's and this isolated community for the better of the good of everyone. (Think of a small rat cage and what happens when one rat has 6 babies and so and so-all still living in the cage. They run out of room and begin eating and killing each other-just look at our inner cities and grossly over-populated 3rd world nations. We are no different than the rats despite what people want to think.) Sorry, but there's no way around that brutal reality. It's nature and those people that are willing to be responsible and do the right thing should be praised and our system should be set up for responsible birth control measures. (If it was still 1800, the story would be different)
