Hunter - Thank you for your insight. I completely agree with you concerning how we approach issues and people and the reponses we get.
Is there a place one can access the testimony records of the Culverwell case?

Good luck with the coyote population. Should be a beautiful weekend.

Hunter - you need to know I am NOT a supporter of what Rodney did. I know of him I do not “know” him. I do not agree with or condone what he did. My entire family, for generations, have been “legal” hunters and ranchers. But I also think we all need to be better at trying to find the good in things, all things. All the man did (Rodney) was be “polite” and thank his supporters. Politeness seems to be a lost art. The trial is over…..
I DO have proof of changes in the DOW first hand. I own a small ranch in Moffat County, the changes are very apparent from a couple years ago. I have also been told by other people their experiences recently. Things are changing (for now) for the better.

nimrod - That was mean. Shame on you!

als362- didn't your mother ever teach you “if you can't say anything nice….Don't say anything at all”? The trial is over, our justice system acted, leave it alone.
Try to see something besides the negative.
Good has come from this trial. The DOW is much more responsive to the public. E-mails, letters and calls are being responded to quickly and sometimes in person if warranted. Positive changes are being made to help ranchers deal with wildlife. Certain things needed to be brought out into the open to make those things happen. It is very gracious of Rodney to take the time to acknowledge his supporters.

Thank you! Acknowledgment is a great start. It is refreshing to know that someone is listening.
Thank you Michelle for bringing this forward. Hopefully this will be the start of something great for our community.
    Merry Christmas to all.

First of all, I am so sorry Michelle that you have had to endure what you did. I hope you are well now.
TMH needs to focus on their level of care in all areas. In a recent trip to the ER with a friend, (she was in a tremendous amount of pain) She was also “put on hold” in a room. BTW there was no one else in the ER at the time. It was the nurses lunch time so she announced she was leaving. No one else came for over an hour. Dr. Ossen was also “gone to lunch” in the next room. We could hear him laughing and joking. Don't get me wrong, I agree Dr.'s and nurses need to eat but I also think that patients should be a first priority. At the very least get some one to cover while you are gone.
A new hospital sounds great, but without hospital administration that expects (demands) excellence in care, and are willing to address poor behaviour with their staff, all we are going to have is a new building staffed by rude medical “professionals” that no one wants to or is afraid to go to.
Remember….. going to the hospital everyday is normal for hospital staff, for a patient it is and can be a very traumatic unknown. A little compassion goes a long way!

There are already laws on the books concerning “contributing to a minor” We don't need any more laws, we need to enforce the laws we have. They need to be enforced regardless of the persons last name, their social or economic status, or if they are “locals”.
Is this possible in today's system? A system that continually makes it more difficult for law enforcement to do their jobs? A system where “who you are” and “how much money you have” speaks louder than anything.
Maybe it's time for parents to start being parents, real parents, the kind that are more concerned about emphasizing the differance between right and wrong than if they are their kids best friends, the “cool” parents.
Maybe it's time to take our communities back and start demanding these laws are enforced and prosecuted. Time to stand behind our law enforcement when they are doing their jobs and let everyone know that breaking the law, any law, will not be tolerated in this community!

Joe - - Thank you for questioning this. How prepared is our police force to handle our changing community , for that matter to handle anything other than minor violations? Their response time in the past has been extremely slow, (1 hour to respond to an auto theft case), and usually ends with them telling the victim there is not much they can do, but they will take a report. Are we as a community really being “protected and served” or just “responded to and pacified”?

I agree with portions of almost every post here. The bottom line is, none of us were there, none of us know ALL the facts, that is why we have a justice system. If you want to learn more about that system and the facts, attend the trial. Educate yourself.
Craig Daily Press… Shame on you! Regardless of who is on trial, posting a poll like this before a jury has even been selected and the trial has begun is more than inappropriate, it is journalism at it's worst. Here is a quote from the United Nations Human Rights Declarations, to help you brush up on your human rights articles. The information in full can be found at

    http://www.un.org/cyberschoolbus/huma…

Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him.”
“You should be considered innocent until it can be proved that you are guilty. If you are accused of a crime, you should always have the right to defend yourself.”
