You would think fire flies in Colorado would be an impossible expectation, but alas there is an option. There is a hot spring at the north end of the San Luis valley (north of Alamosa) called Valley View. Years ago someone from the Midwest released a jar full of the critters and they not only managed to survive, but they thrived. It is an awesome experience in the late spring/early summer to be soaking in one of the springs with a spectacular view of the entire valley and then see the dance of fire flies add to the ambiance.
Hey, we're doing just fine from the revenue that liquor stores bring in on beer, wine, and hard liquor. Not to mention the tax revenue we get from the sale of cigarettes. We don't need additional tax revenue to squander (or perhaps fund worthwhile projects).
Or what?.....They will put your phone number into the Political ads calling list and continue bombarding you with ALL of the political calls even AFTER the election!!

um, the water that comes out of the fire hydrant is the same water that comes out of your kitchen faucet.

We humans flatter ourselves. This planet doesn't give one hoot about us! The planet existed for billions of years before we arrived, and it looks forward to another few billion years after we're gone. With that in mind I say party till it's over, and know that the planet will regenerate itself from cockroaches, thistles, and carp.
The reason a flower with all the thorns is the most popular for a boy to give a girl is because it reminds him of how careful he has to be around the person he's giving them to. *wink
I think the tax revenue from one retail marijuana facility would have easily funded a spectacular fireworks display.
