W.E. Gadd was my grandfather. He died in 1965. The pictures of the foundation and stairs, I believe, formerly belonged to a man named Mr.Caisson. They were on the left side of the highway as you were going to Rangely.
Buyers for some of the lots were: Euliss Harper, Chamberlain brothers, and Chester and Stella Mead. Besides land, my grandparents owned five, three room houses. A few businesses started out at Blue Mountain such as: Greelser's Boarding House, Red Marr's Blue Star Motel, and Elsa Boyd's Jack Pot Cafe, but did not survive long after the boom time in the Rangely oil fields. The Blue Mountain Bar and Cafe endured longer, operated by Bee Hayes and Ned and Lou Greenhaugh among others.
I was delighted to see the article in the paper.
