I have heard several stoires of how these taxes have gone up. It is shocking in many cases.
Along with the fact that your home taxes went up, I suppose you noticed or maybe not because your in such shock over your property taxes, that the city raised the water and sewer rates again?!?!?
Wouldn't it be nice if we had the option of raising our wages when ever we felt like it so we could meet all the demands on our money from others who think nothing of raising their rates because they've decided they can't do the same job for what they were doing it for?!?!? What a terrible cycle that would create! I don't know what the answers might be but sooner or later it's got to stop!

well, maybe this group isn't set in stone yet and if enough people complain or call in with suggestions, he might be willing to listen…………but we have to remember money is a factor and so it time. I don't have a problem with Three Dog Night, but I sure wouldn't mind some country star coming in. Altho the good ones will be a fortune and are more then likely aready booked up.

Who would you suggest………..50 cents or how about Meat Loaf?!?!? lol And yes the “Boat” can bring in bigger names and have free concerts, but we're not Steamboat and you guys all do your fair share of bitching about Steamboat, so why would you want us to act like them?
Maybe Three Dog Night isn't the right band for us, maybe there is someone better out there, but seeing as they are trying to do this for the 100th birthday of the town, there isn't alot of time left to get someone in here this summer. If you have someone better in mind, maybe you should go talk to Mr.Pike……heck get on a few of the boards for the celebration and help out instead of complaining and maybe because of your efforts things will turn out better then if you just sit at home and complain?!!!! But even if you don't get on a committe, talk to Mr. Pike and suggest a few bands and maybe he'd be willing to try getting someone else in. We'll just never know unless someone tries.

The way I see it is, if you send someone in who is of a legal age for buying alcohol, then you can't say these businesses did anything wrong!! The only way your going to find out if they are doing things by the book is to send someone in who shouldn't be trying to buy and see if they are carding people like they are suppose to be. It is plain and simple to me!?!?!?
This also means if they are not sure and a person doesn't have any ID, they don't get served. Unless your one of the kids whose trying to buy booze when your not old enough, I don't know why you'd complain. Well yes I do. It's entrapment or appears to be, but this sort of thing is done all the time in the big cities only sometimes with cops posing as drug buyers or hookers!!

Taylor, as for your last post I agree with you. I saw something maybe a couple years ago about carts hitting cars because someone just gave them a shove and the person who did the shoving was held accountable for the damages done to anothers car. Now in Craig America, unless you actually see the person shove their cart into your car, I don't know how you'd find out who did it, but maybe if someone had to pay for damages they might think twice about what they are doing.
Nativegirl, I had to laugh about your comment of someone leaving their cart behind your truck. I've had that happen to me too and it just amazes me that they have the gall to do that. It's just plain crazy!!

Well, I have to admit that I can be a good shopper and a bad shopper. I too hate it when someone leaves their cart right next to my car so I have to move it in order to get in my car. I leave my cart toward the front of the parking space so it shouldn't be in the way of anyone getting in or out of their car and I try to make sure it sits so it's not going to roll. What really ticks me off is the lazy so and so who leaves their cart parked in the handycapped spot. How in the heck are those people going to get out and move that cart so they can then get back in and park their cart?!?!?!? I have also been known to go get a cart from someone who is pretty much done putting their groceries in their car and taking that cart from them so they don't have to either leave it right there or push it back to the cart stand. I guess I just do what ever strikes my mood.
Granny………I talked to one of the grocery store managers once about doing the money thing. My Dad had told me that some place they stopped at once, you put a quarter in some kind of deal and got a cart then when you took the cart back you got your quarter back. Sounds like a heck of an idea to me, but the manager thought it was just to much trouble…………if I remember right!
I guess I don't care much whether you return your cart to the stand or not, just think about where your leaving it and be kind to others and their cars.

I for one don't see anything wrong with the names going in the paper of those arrested for different reasons.
If you behave yourself and don't get in trouble then you've nothing to worry about.
I do understand that at times there could be a misunderstand or wrong information given that could lead to a persons arrest and in those cases I think it would be a very good idea for the paper to print something that says it was a mistake and that the arresting agency screwed up. I don't know exactly how they'd go about this but it seems to be only fair to me.
I for one hope they continue with this practice.

Native, good points. I had not thought of our neighbors to the north nor Colo-Wyo, when writing my comment.
I hope this can be worked out for all parties, because as you say, this is a much needed service to so many people.
