greeneyedgurl- I don't think that this is necessarily the case of people defrauding the system but an example of how our society has changed and how materialistic we are. Many people are so caught up in having certain nice-new things that they will chose those unnecessary items over bills, food, medical care, ect. Children today are not deprived of materialistic things but are deprived of their social-emotional needs. Of course there are many people who abuse the system such as this woman in the article but until the system changes there is not much to do about it. The system is not flawless but at this time it is the best we have. Also, keep in mind that there are many people now seeking services because their income has changed due to job loss. So, I guess what I'm saying is it is best that we just take care of ourselves and our children and not get too caught up in what other's have.

This is not a question that should be posted on this site. Those kids are planning on winning every game, that's what you do…. you practice and play to win, one game at a time (losing happens and you learn from it). To have question like this where their “fans” can give a negative response is not a very positive way to boost their self esteem. I would hope that in the future the Craig Daily Press could have some better questions and please stay away from the ones that may have a negative impact on the youth (remember these are kids and not the Broncos) of this community. Good luck this season and give it your all and have fun!

Well, I'm glad that Eyecare Specialties does something to help those who fall through the cracks but they do very little in comparison to other places (other communties) that I have witnessed. It would be great if they could step their generousity up a notch.

You can change the name, you can change the building, but it still will not change the quality of service.

Changing a name will cost quite a bit, so they better be sure that a new name will be worth the cost.

I have to agree that Craig does need some effort put into it to spruce it up. It is a pretty dirty and run down looking town. I have lived a a few other small towns that have as much to offer as Craig and more so I see where people are frustrated by it's limitations. Now, I have no desire to live in a big city so don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing Craig to a big city. I'm comparing it to small towns that seem to have a lot of people that take pride in where they live. I've been watching this post and I have been suprised that there are not more people defending this town. Maybe that is the problem. This town has a large part of the population that has moved here due to their employment. They are just “here”. There is no investment in this town and there seems to be very little from those who are here because they like Craig. It is up to the people that live here to take pride in their town and spruce up the community whether it is your own home or business. Make Craig something that you can be proud of!
Anyways, I can't say I am proud of Craig and I wasn't very excited about moving here, but I do enjoy it. I like living in a small town, where I can feel safe taking my kids for walks to the park. While it seems that many of the people here have had a rough life (or they just appear that way) they are down to earth and have been decent to us. I hope that my family and I can have a positive impact in this community while we are here. Even if is just a small one.
