I actually quit using chewing tobacco just over a year and a half ago. After trying many times I finally hit my knees and prayed that God would take away the addiction. I haven't had a dip since and it was the best answered prayer. I will encourage anyone out there with that habit to try to give it up. Go ahead and ask the Lord for assistance while you are at it, you might be surprised!

I have to disagree with Mr Snare. He himself said that two buildings burned down one 3 blocks away and another 5 blocks away. I'm pretty sure respone time would go down if the FD had the facilities to house some firefighters, plus if they were to not go full time with any firefighters it would enable a shorter response time for firefighters living closer to that second station. The part that I do agree with is that possibly the voters did not fully read the bill, how is that in anyway shape or form the fire board's fault? If people want to vote without fully understanding what they are voting for that is their own problem. Also as you pointed out they don't have to ask permision from anyone to do anything. Yet they are, they are coming forward and asking for public opinion because what they do is all about our community. @Justthefacts: I have to say that out of most of the post's that I have read, that have been posted by you, are insulting someone somehow. I believe that someone who has such a low self esteem that they must put others down to make yourself feel better need some positive in thier lives. Well from what I can tell is you seem to stand up for what you believe in, good for you, not everyone has the drive to do so. Unfortunately your constant posts that are full of insults and misinformation is not as helpful as you may think. I do believe that it might be a good idea for you reevaluate the way you treat people. I find that the better you treat people the better they treat you in return. This is not fact just OPINION, might be time for you to learn the difference.

I personally say I would prefer see the FD get a training facility and be able to properly execute their training in the field. Let me ask if you were in a burning building and trapped wouldn't you want to have the confidence that the firefighters could safely rescue you. Now I'm not saying that they're not properly trained but knowing that they are able to get higher quality training makes me feel better if they ever have to come rescue me or my family. I know that there are residents think that there are better things we can do with our tax money, but honestly there will always be someone who wants our tax money for their own reasons, so why not spend on the FD that is constantly giving back to our community. Just my own personal thoughts on the subject, everyone is entitled to their opinions and I hope that I am not one of the commenters that get completely lambasted for stating my opinions. A simple I agree because... or I disagree because... would be nice to see for once as opposed to lowering ourselves to the high school or even middle school mentality level and picking apart every little part of persons comment that we don't like by insulting someone’s intelligence or trying to make them feel small for having an opinion different than our own.

I myself will be voting YES. For reasons of my own, that some may not understand.

I have to say that I partially agree with Oldsage. I know for a fact that even when a kid tells a principal or teacher what has been happening it is not always handled correctly. Simply asking a kid "did you do .. to so-and-so" does not mean that they will be honest and fess up to what they did. Nor will the student reporting it to a teacher tell all that happened to instigate. I do believe that it is up to the students to stop bullying but I also believe that the SAME standards should be used by the school administration. This means that if that quiet student who gets straight A's generally minds their own business gets into trouble they should be punished in the same fashion that the star of the school team is punished for the same act. I understand that nobody is ever completely content with the way the school runs things no matter how much they try to please every parent/guardian. The thing that I believe needs to be concentrated on is all of the school administration on the same page about punishment AND parents making it clear that they don't condone that type of behavior. Now if you have lived here for any amount of time whether you had kids in the school or went to them yourselves you know that not every parent/gaurdian cares about the way that student acts in school. So if you do care do your part and make it perfectly clear what you believe needs done. This includes talking to your kids and seeing what their thoughts are. There is a possibility that there was a communitcation error somewhere and they aren't on the same page with you. Lastly we all need to PRAY for all the students, parents/gaurdians, AND school administrators.
