als- I agree that the subject of unrestricted animals needs visited although it will be an endless problem. The topic of the two pitbulls happened last week and the paper waited until Sunday to put the question in paper, the point of bringing it up now is moot as far as I'm concerned. I am not saying your opinion does not matter; you bring up many good points on many of the posts in the paper. I may not comment on them all but I do read a lot of them. I have the same problem with animals; I cannot walk my dog down the street without other dogs running out after her. It's frustrating but I don't see it as anything that will soon be corrected by the police or animal control officers.

If the kid wasn't out causing trouble then you wouldn't have to worry about false reporting would you?

12 reported dog attacks in the last year”—I'm pretty sure there have been way more reports of loose dogs, he makes it sound as if they've only received 12 calls regarding dogs period. That's half the problem right there and the dispatcher will tell you that the officers are busy with other issues and will get to the less important problems (such as dogs) when they get the time. I watched my child get chased down the street on his way to the bus stop when he was 6 by three big labs, maybe they weren't going to hurt him but they would've knocked him down by their size. After I chased them down and got my child on the bus; I called and never seen a dog catcher or an officer. The dog catcher was recently called by my neighbor for the other neighbor's dog growling at him; the dog catcher told him that dog was too mean to pick up, they've tried before. Neighbor went in the house and got his BB gun to deal with the dog himself. I cannot walk my dogs either because there are too many that run out after my dog. Calling the PD does not help, i know they have more important problems and the dog catcher is a chicken Sh*t, so get your pepper spray or whatever works, you're on your own out there.

Seriously?? How do you think the stores in this town are going to get their supplies if all the trucks stay off the streets??? Are you going to wheel your wheelbarrow out to the by pass and haul the groceries for city market in, or safeway…the food trucks for all the restaurants?? I will personally offer to haul the beer in from the beer truck but the rest is all up to you two since you don't understand why the trucks have to come through town.
