The color green is a very ugly thing. "Those Ranchers" make money off of thier land. Land THEY paid for. Land THEY pay taxes on. Land they have to maintain. That "Land" is their job. Do people say nasty things about you because perhaps you are fortunate enough to have a job that you make good money from? Money you use to support your family? Why should they let people on THEIR land for free? How much do you know about Ranching for Wildlife? Its not the cake walk you would like to make it out to be. Along with the BIG money they make from it comes BIG responsibilites and payments. I guess all I am saying is mind the weeds in your own back yard. It's NOBODY'S business how much money ranchers make off of THEIR LAND. Go buy some land, apply for ranching for wildlife, and then you too can lead "a life of pure undisputed bliss."
P.S. Make sure you spend your first check from ranching for wildlife on a big haystack so your friends can come for dinner while your family starves.

Granny....first of all Rodney is not my friend...I barely know the guy. Second...ARE YOU SERIOUS??!! Do you know Connie? Probably not ........because you are a woman. I have watched people in this town dis ranchers because they have the ability to make money with their land. The color green runs rampid in this town. Have your own opinion...thats great....just don't judge the guy before he's even been convicted.

Why don't you people back off about how much money you THINK he made off of HIS land. IT'S HIS JOB!!!! If you happen to make $80000 a year at your job should people look down their noses at you? How much do you know about ranching for wildlife? Its not a free ride. You have to meet MANY qualifications that cost money to even QUALIFY for this program. How about we publish EVERYONES salary and all take cheap shots at each other. Rodney.....good luck and God Bless....I HOPE you get a fair trial.

Granny....think about this......if Rodney is convicted do you have ANY idea the power this gives the DOW?!?!? It will signifigantly take away landowner rights. The DOW will know they have every rancher and landowner in this county by the short hairs. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!! If a ranchers livestock starves...so do they!! Have you heard any stories about the ranchers who went out and literally stood guard while their animals ate to make sure thier livestock actually ate? Have you heard the stories of the elk goring livestock fighting for hay? Probably not....WHERE WAS THE DOW?!?!?!

On Moffat County rancher Rodney Culverwell begins his jury trial Monday on charges of poaching elk on his property. He contends he was protecting his property. What do you believe the trial's outcome should be?

Question of the week

Steamboat Springs is considering adopting a social host ordinance, which would add harsher punishments — such as jail time — for adults who knowingly “host” parties where underage drinking is allowed. Do you think Craig needs a social host ordinance?
