Not a bad idea… Let's take it a step further and instead of the City taking it on, let's form a separate Recreation District, that would be an entity unto itself.

Everybody seems to be forgetting that it's not the County that is proposing the new community recreation center, it's the City. And, hopefully, it would be financed with sales tax. So, not only would citizens be paying for it, but any visitors to our community would (unknowingly) be helping. There are many sources for funding, and I'm sure in these tough times, it will take all of them. I still think it's a goal worth pursuing. If you've ever lived in a community with this type of facility, you know how worth it it is.

What a rambling diatribe that letter to the editor was! It made very little (if any!) sense. If you want to complain, and come across as intelligent, try to clear your head and get your facts straight first.

Let's not over react before it's necessary! Unfortunately, if you want to have quality of life, it does cost something. Having a recreation center in this community would be not only something to be proud of, but a true asset. If you would read the article, you would see that all involved are trying to find the least “painful” way to make this a reality. Please take some time and go visit a recreation center in one of our neighboring towns. Living in a town with recreation facilities is an amazing thing for all citizens.
