Actually, there was an add several months ago with Gov Hickenlooper talking about the remodeling of the capital building. I think they are doing a renovation on the building.

I have to commend the Moe's for contacting the Romney campaign to get Romney to come to our corner of the state. It appears as if Romney may have some compasion for our concerns over energy production and the regulation that has gone on, not only under Obama's administration, but let us not forget Ritter's administration for really clamping down on the energy industry in Western Colorado. I am pretty comfortable saying that I don't believe Craig, or even Western Colorado, will get a visit from Obama himself. I didn't get to see the speech in person but have heard many good things. Let's see if those things come to fruition after November.

This is not about misunderstanding a government document. This is clearly someone avoiding answering truthfully on the document. Tarango had the opportunity to correct any misleading information after the first hearing. He knew what he had to disclose on the application. I'm sure the application didn't change its wording in a months time. So this clearly becomes an issue of dishonesty.

Actually, if you read the paper last fall, the person you are referring to paid their taxes. It may have been late but hardly considered “defrauding” the government. Defrauding would be not paying at all and avoiding the government at all costs. Defrauding could also mean they are hiding something from the government for a gain. Since property taxes are determined by the Assessors office, that's the amount owed. So it doesn't appear the person you are referring to is avoiding the amount owed. They may have an issue with how much is owed, but they paid it.
Was the person charged with hit and run? Did the person admit to the crime to law enforcement? Was it disclosed on their application? Was there an application for renewal? I know when liquor license renewals come up law enforcement has to conduct a background check for the past year they had their license.
But, I don't believe we know the answers to the majority of these questions to make a qualified judgement for the truth of the matter.

I really hope that some of the supporters to this night club after the denial of the first application can now clearly see that honesty means everything. I've said this before, what else is this guy going to be dishonest about in the future? Sure enough, it happened again this past Tuesday night. So the question remains, can this person be trusted ever again? I truly hope in 2 years Mr. Tarrango has moved on with his life and the community need not worry about him applying for a liquor license again!

This is a very unfortunate circumstance that was inevitably going to happen. This is not about race. This is not about the location (necessarily). This is not about whether or not Craig needs another night club. This is about integrity and honesty. It appears as though this guy can not be honest, period!!! Not only did he not accurately fill out the application the first time, he was given a second opportunity to make this right a second time. So, no one can tell me he didn't know about all the publicity surrounding why he was denied the first time. He had more than enough time to figure this out. Whether he needed an interpreter or not, someone who is serious about starting a business and given a second chance at it should not have made the second mistake. However, I hope this sheds some light to everyone that being dishonest gets you no where. No matter who you are, eventually it's going to catch up with you. I applaud the city council for giving someone a second chance. This guy doesn't even deserve a third chance in 2 years, regardless. Honesty and integrity means everything!!

This night club should not be supported. This man's credibility is at stake. He did not complete an accurate application the first time around. So if he completes it accurately this time, it should be a go? I don't think so!! What else is this guy going to conveinently avoid telling city officials in the future? How do we know when he speaks the truth when he couldn't speak the truth on his application the first time? If you were to lie on a job application, should you be given a second chance at applying again? You absolutely lost your chance the first time you lied. No employer will hire anyone who deliberately lied on an application. If you're a business owner who reads these comments and you support this guy, I challenge you to ask that question.
I am for bringing business to Craig. However, not at the cost of intergrity and honesty. There are plenty of honest hard working people who have ideas or dreams of starting a business that the city should consider first when the situation arises.

He may well have needed an interpreter for the application and hearing. I would surmise to think if I didn't speak or write English very well that I would find someone who does to help me complete an accurate application with accurate information so there is no question.

Wrestlinrockies: Also, Archie has every right to speak his opinion. Did you speak yours at the meeting? Probably not.
Let people have their own opinions without the trash talk, especially against ones own children.

I still believe they guy lied. Therefore he can't be trusted.
When you bring a bar in, no matter the location, there will be fights and noise.
The non alcoholic dances are probably quicernaras (sp) for teenage girls anyways.
I can almost bet there are very few fights and noise complaints from an empty building as we speak. However, I can gurantee there will be more illegal activity if a bar is opened there since there will be people drinking and doing “other” things!!
